View Full Version : Menai Clean-up Saturday 24/03/07
Meet- Gate No.6 (Heathcote road )
Time- 8.30am for a 9.00am start.
This is a "C+" grade run with "B" grade options,( there are bi-passes around most of the more difficult sections ).
The clean-up is usually from 1 to 3 hrs, then we can use the different tracks for the rest of the day.
You need to bring good gloves and decent shoes/boots to wear.
Bring your own recovery gear if needed & CB radio ( Hand held fine ).
Bring food/drinks & don't forget the camera!

Depends if my Jeep is fixed yet and if i feel it deserves to be 'treated' to a day out wheeling after the trouble of the last 2 weeks.

Here ya go, the ?gate? (It?s just a large dirt mound you drive over) is off Heathcote road right in the middle of this map, you can see the dirty track coming off Heathcote Road. Go in this track and turn right at the big dirt intersection and follow it down, You?ll see everyone here. There will be Jeeps on Heathcote road though at that entrance.

Hi all,
I will be there around 9.00ish in the morning (gonna vote first 8O ).

I am hoping that one day some 'extra cash' finds your house
you gotta believe in the 'lift fairy'
the squeak goes away by the time I get up some speed
so no I didn't find it (yet)
I squeaked all afternoon till we got back on the highway
I had a great time however
it was an awesome day - even though it was a bit muggy and hot
me I am now wishing on the 'car fridge fairy'
oh and the 'GPS fairy'
maybe somewhere out there is a 'superior Jeep fairy'
so I can just make one wish to the higher power
either that or get another job for the wish list money :D

Hi gav sorry I couldnt add to the WJ population, couldnt make it because we had a baby on friday, but according to the pics it looks like stevet ventured through track 8 my personal favourite at menai.
gavwj did you end up disconnecting the swaybar cause that wouldve helped you a bit, and when ever you need to get a lift let me know Ill pass you on to where you can get it cheap.

I don't know which track it was but a little more driving experience some new tyres and some additional clearence would of helped me a great deal.

hey peoples sorry i havent been on or uploaded anything but im capped at the moment! but yeh GREAT DAY GUYS! gav, dude... that WJ was awsome! :) and on sunday night (when im back up to normal down/upload speeds) ill start uploading some vids on you tube and post them up on the forum :) okpeoples so whens the next trip??? hahahaha cant wait! :)

yeh dude just waiting for the new shokkie to come in and thats bout it..other than that ponsioe was catching the bus rather than driving in for a while but the she got fed up of the bus so shes driving the jeep,shes just taking it easy cos it does tend to dive a bit to the passenger side under heavy braking, by heavy i mean slamming on the brakes, but under normal road driving there really no difference in the way the car handles or drives...so yeh were still driving it, until we get a new shokkie :)
