We haven’t been out wheeling for awhile and thought we will do one of our old favourites.

This track was our first trip out with the club. It’s a great one for any newcomer or visitor to come along and see what got us hooked.

It’s a great day out with some fantastic views as we run through some of Lithgow pagoda rock formations.


Where: Baal Bone - between Capertee and Lithgow, Great Western Hwy.

When: Saturday 19th October

Meet: Zig Zag Railway (Clarence - Old bells line of road)

Time: Meet 9:00 am for 9:30 am (sharp!) departure.

Grade: C grade mostly, with 2 pinch points – one on the climb, one on the descent which can be tricky side of B

Requirements:



Stock Jeeps should be fine on this trip.
Front & Rear rated recovery points are mandatory.
Recovery gear – Please bring it if you have it. Though we will have some gear available if someone is new to the club and not fully geared up yet.
Hand held radio minimum
Please be fuelled and fed for departure. We don’t stop for fuel, you want to be full at the meet up point.
Food and water – we are aiming to stop at a lookout for lunch.
Camera
Sunscreen / Insect repellent/ appropriate footwear


NOTE:
As with any trip off road, damage is possible when tackling any challenge!!!
However, you are with an experienced group that will guide you through any challenge.

This run is limited to: 10 vehicles including trip leader and 4 spots for newbies/visitors.

I don't see it being a problem, we have had stock cherokee on this trail before. However, the less clearance you have the more chance of damage.
I'll put you down for now, let me know if you guys change your mind.

Such a great turnout for this trip!!

Sean and I are very excited about all the interest.

I was looking through the attending members and I noticed there is a really good contingent of Grand Cherokees registered to go.

I have Seans approval for this suggestion.

I would like to have all the Grand Cherokees running together in the second group with me, as we rarely get so many out at the same time.

There are no Chicken Track options around the pinch points.

There is a distinct possibility you could scrape a rear bar going down the big rock step, especially if you don't have a hitch installed.

I am happy to add you as a visitor to group 2 with all the other GCs.

Hi Ben, unfortunately, despite my best efforts to persuade the other humans of my household that I really DID need to spend last weekend in the garage working on my WJ, I've not been able to make the necessary repairs to radiator, wheel bearing, ball-joints, etc..
I'm hating life, but I will have to pull out of Saturday's trip to Baal Bone. Enjoy the trip. Darrell
