View Full Version : Today's Trivia Question
Wooders
19-06-06, 05:43 PM
Just for a bit of fun - once a day for the next 6 weeks, I'll try and toss up a trivia question. Starting today 19th June until 31st July.
If you have a suggestion or question - PM it to me.
I'll try and keep a tally of first correct answer - prize is simple boasting rights. If it looks sucessfull I might add some small prize - but lets see how it goes first.
I will also try and mix up the time of day I ask the question to make it fair.
Also if I MISS a day - then I will catchup with multiple questions, again 1 point for first correct answer. Oh yeah if the post is editted it will NOT count. Sound Fair??
Answers will be provided the next day (or when I'm next online)
OK here goes:
19/6/06: Which company produced the first Jeep?
sketchy
19-06-06, 05:56 PM
American Bantam, err, but I didn't know that...

20/6/06: Model code for the only Factory 6x6 Jeep.
M151 A2 6x6...
Side note, in the June '06 edition of JP mag the M151,although built by Willys, should not be considered a "real" Jeep because it was actually designed by Ford. Looks like a Jeep/jeep to me!

The MUTT was built by AM General under licence from Ford and is generally not included under the "Jeep" banner thus is not the answer I am looking for.
Similarly Kaiser produced a 6x6 2.5 ton truck - which is VERY loosely associated with the Jeep brand - does not apply.
Sorry no points (but a bloody good attempt ;)).

Willys' built M151 A2 long before Am General existed...
I've also seen Kaiser 6X6 firetrucks built on jeep platforms but I can't recall the model designation.

Willys MT-TUG? Or are we talking about the same vehicle?

Wooders
20-06-06, 06:13 PM
The MT-TUG was the Jeep I wanted to hear about.
Sorry yes some MUTT's were built but Willy's - but the design is Ford AND teh slots still go the wrong way.
BUT to be fair I'll give a point to sketchy....by the MT-TUG was the rig I was after....one rare bird - only 15 ever made and 4 known to still exist.

Let's see...With a COMPLETE model code, I'm getting a total of 16 members. With a complete and or partial code (like ACJ) I'm getting 18 members...

I spotted at least one more ;)
I worded the question specifically for a LIST not a count ;)
Likewise it asks for members of the SJC Foum...not SJC ;)
In terms of "completeness" general acceptance of the Model is acceptable..... ie CJ....but "C" by itself does not count

Antz has MT Bias Ply Claws. 37x13.5r15
Dennis has 37x12.5r15 MT/R's on his TJ.
Antz would be 'bigger' as per placard though as they are wider i guess.
Wooders and Jumbo's TSL's would probably be bigger but they are not marked as 37's.
