Yes very belated, but Kerry and I enjoyed last weekend so much that we want to do another trip before things get slow for us. We're looking for a trip we haven't done in a while - and wow - our records show we last did this trip in 2015! So our info is based on old recon.

This trip picks up on some of the famous 6 foot track down to Jenolan Caves and runs through a bit of state forest. We remember it kindly. :-) But was certainly a trip that is stock Jeep friendly.

Where: Mini mini

When: Sunday on this Australia Day weekend - 27 Jan 2019

Meet: Caltex Fuel Station, Mount Victoria Blue Mountains

Time: 9:00am for 9:30am sharp leave

Grade: C Grade

Requirements: Sense of fun, radio, food/drink of choice, camera.

This run is limited to: I doubt it will be big group given late advice, no restrictions here.

Further info contact: I will pm mobile number to everyone who signs up

Attending:

1. Dru: Dru'n'Kerry; JK
2. Mariner
3. Rich Henning
4. Ian
5. Steve and Lisa
6. Ben
7. Martin and Tian
8. David and Erika
9.
10.

PS I know it's late notice, but it was also late decision. But if you have a day spare you are welcome to join us.

Hey there new-comers. We are a friendly and flexible club who is quite cool with guests joining our trips.

But I can’t register for you! Log in. Get a user name, say “hey Dru I’ve been talking to SJC on face book, put us on the list!”

And hey presto, you’ll be on the list. Wheeling this weekend with a very cool Sydney Jeep Club trip.

PS it’s seriously a cool trip. At one end we have Ben running what is honestly my favourite Cherokee, AND we have Ian out playing in his classic. Great weekend to come and play.

Hi Dru,

Would the track be suitable for my WK2? We (me and Diana) might be able to join in but still need to confirm

Yes WK2 is fine. Caveat emptor (you make your own call on things) but this trip is intended to be on the easier side of things and is intended for Jeeps like WK2.

Note that we haven't done this trail for quite a while and we may well extend onto tracks we haven't actually done - but those are based on trail books such as "4WD trecks close to Sydney" where the trails are noted as "easy". And that usually means D/C grade.

Mini mini is C grade (the guide books call this "medium"), so you'll need a bit of low range but it's all on the easier end of things.

Obviously there are no guarantees as conditions can change but yes C grade means suitable for WK2.

I thought I would need air conditioning, now I need doors windows and a roof as well!

So far the morning looks clear, but rain seems more likely than not. Sorry about that Ian!

Thanks Dru, unfortunately we couldn’t make it! Hope you had a good dry trip :)

Hi Dru And Kerry.

A nice day out, nothing too strenuous but hot and dusty. And yes it did rain but only for about 10 minutes on the way home between the M4 an M7. Didn't need the waterproofs, the bikini top or even the wipers.
Thanks for organizing.
