This is a stock jeep trip, SJC-style. :smile-new: Established club members are most welcome, to help with any potential new members.

Visitors - if you are interested, just register at the forum (no cost for that) then post your interest below. :encouragement:

General: Consider this an introduction to the main access routes through the 4WD playground north of Sydney. Kerry and I have been gradually adding interesting off-piste bits, so I hope it's fun for everyone.

Where: Watagans

When: Saturday 25th November 2017

Meet: M1 Motorway services traveling North, just past Wyong. On Google it's called F3 Wyong North bound (Twin Servos). There is a Macca's and a healthy fast food as well.

Time: 8:00 am for 8:30 departure. Please be fueled and fed.

Grade: C Grade - easy.

Generally graded trails. Most of the route on our Navigation tool shows speeds of 20 km/h. Not a lot of low range though we might add a couple of "off piste" alternates - just because we can. Generally the track conditions are similar to Black Fellows Hand Trail in Newnes.

The Watagans are famous for mud. Not much we can do about that but we are carefully avoiding all known major bog hole challenges, just can't guarantee you wont need to wash your Jeep afterwards. Likewise for overgrown scratchy bushes - we are avoiding all known scratchy tracks, just can't guarantee it. Wave Rock entry may have some small wet spots and branches, still C grade and definitely worth it.

Requirements: Radio, food/drink of choice, camera. Full fuel tank. If you have recovery gear please pack it - no need to race out and purchase if you don't have any yet. Stock Jeeps are fine. Regarding Radio - convoy communications are a must. We have a hand held UHF which we use for spotting which can be used, but we really need everyone on the club Channel. See what you can do to help us out.

This run is limited to: 10

Hitesh. I doubt you would understand how frustrating a query like this is. So, Generally we would see a perfect day having the whole crew airing up with enough time to be back home in Sydney in daylight. Shit happens though.

Mate, if you have something important on that night, don't come. Basic. Easy.

If you want to play, I'm happy to guide.

Please confirm your interest.

Hi Dru,
If this is graded C I would assume it’s WK2 friendly? If so please add us up to this trip (Khaled & Diana)
Thanks!

WK2 are absolutely fine. This C grade does not have any specific pinch points(challenge points above the grade). Most of the distance travelled is on are graded trails, though we pick up some side trails to keep interest up. We had WK2s last year that went fine. Nothing of course is without any risk, but this trail is specifically for stock Jeeps.

I've got you on the list!

It was a pleasure meeting you guys in the lat meeting and seeing you at the 4WD expo. I would love to join you guys on this trip but gets in the way. Is there any Sunday trips coming up?

Sundays tend to depend on the particular trip leader. Generally for Kerry and I, when we do day trips our habit is to run them on a Saturday. This leaves Sunday for jet blasting the jeep and generally putting things away.

There will certainly be other trips however, and there are plenty of club members who can run trips.

Check the club calander in terms of trip schedules. I do try to keep this up to date.

All the best.

Hi, I am a new member to the Forum, and would love to be included.

I drive a 2007 Grand Cherokee with QD2 and A/T tyres, and have a little bit of wheeling experience in it.

I would look forward to meeting some fellow Jeep owners.

Cheers

REQUEST:

We would like to keep these trips to 10 vehicles max, so we have opened up a third Intro trip for the week after - 2nd December. If you can help out by swapping over that would be a great help!

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the heads up, Rajiv.

We’ll use this as an opportunity to run a size 10 convoy as originally intended.

Thought we'd reiterate the nature of the Watagans a little. It's hard to enter interesting areas without overgrown trails. Just something that comes with the Watagans. We've added Burnt Bridge Road to the trip, which means we start a bit closer to the meet up point. We still do Plank Hill which is somewhat, erm, verdant. :-)

Hopefully it all makes for an interesting trip.

Another great day out in jeeps. It is always special to have Ian on board with his classic Willy's. Three quarters of a century of Jeep technology on display, how good is that! An honest 75 years separating the oldest and newest jeep in this convoy. :encouragement:

I'm really hoping that Tian and Dianna enjoyed themselves, Kerry is keen to make sure that the Lady Jeep-Hers are looked after. Keep an eye out for a a Jeep-Hers day in the new year!

Big shout out to Martin - great to have some genuine internationals out on a Sydney Jeep Club trip - and Khaled - mate your line through the creek road cutting was just fabulous, perfect for the WK2. I learned something there.

Hitesh - hope we didnt disappoint with the "keeping something up my sleave"! Stewart, I suspect we need to get you out on a little more involved grades but I hope you enjoyed yourself.

Big thanks to the club "long term members" in Danny and Richard. The day wass much easier with your help, means we can enjoy oursleves that much more when there are other heads helping out.

Finally, thumbs up to Kerry looking after spotting and navigation. Strangely we did not get lost this time!
