Anyone had experience with these tyres? Thinking to buy a set and they seem to be a good mix as an aggressive all terrain as they will be on the daily driver.

This is probably the most interesting tyre review site I have come across. It's US so I doubt its easy to find all these brands, and it isnt really up to date (MTZs are shown available in radial or cross, wherease they are now a hybrid of the two systems).

We've had a great experience with the MTZs but not suited to your purpose. Pretty sure our next rubber will be the MT Claws.

Thanks - think these are a different tyre though, not the P3 that are more aggressive (read AT durability but voids about halfway between a mud and an all terrain).

There's also the Toyo R/T and Nitto Ridge Grappler but I don't think either are out here yet.

Nitto only seems to start at 17" though.

Cooper ST MAXX is another, but it sounds like Lt Smash.

Yeah I've got 315/70s in these and they're great! I've done about 10 000 kms and still looking good. They handle awesome on and off road!!

we are running Dick Cepek Fun Country which is an all terrain. Over 60,000km on them now and still going well. A far bit cheaper than coopers and MT's.

Thanks guys - having trouble finding them in the size I really want (33x10.5) which leaves BF Goodrich KM2 or KO2 (only KM2 seem to be stocked) or Silverstones. With the Silverstones i have now haven't been impressed with lack of on-road manners so likely will go back to KM2 (had them prior in a 30").
Otherwise have to change my wheels to go 285/75 R16 or 33x12.5 R15 (too wide for my liking on the little XJ) for the ATZ P3 and will end up well over budget.

Will bookmark the ATZs for next time I need tyres with the plan to re-gear and lock for 35s.

I had the KM2 on my XJ in a 35x12.5 R15, were a great tyre, have them on the JK now in a 285/70/17 and would happily run them again.

Cheers

To run the 285s did you have to make any modifications?

Nup, fits just fine with a couple of inches of lift.

Also try Kumhos. I got Kumho MT51 in LT265 70 16 for my other 4wd yesterday. Similar pattern but came about $100 less per tyre than the MTZs.... Stayed with standard size for the other car as it will be a tow car for my trailer on moderate grade trips only....http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160721/9a258c4a3edbd0804a45ba26363ffe2a.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160721/8a4dfc5a20ef1107482d511914fc6c4f.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160721/856b68302e3596a478b301309272f668.jpg
