View Full Version : POSTPONED ...... !!! WHEENY CREEK - NIGHT DRIVE...! Friday 29th November
Sorry all. Trip is postponed until a later date due to poor weather. Will repost when I have a future date in mind.
I would like to run a trip up to Wheeny Creek to do some night driving. (More late afternoon)
Where: Wheeny Creek
When: Friday 29th November 2013
Meet Richmond McDonlads March St, Richmond NSW
Time 1800 For a 1830 Departure (if all attending can make it earlier I will bring the time forward).
Grade C+ with B options. Some possible chicken tracks (this is a challenging track, and will be made more challenging with limited light, if you are not confident in your off-road abilities you may want to do this one in the daytime first).
We will still have enough light for the beginning part of the trip, however it will become dark in there due to the tree cover, so lights will be a bonus. We may not do the entire length of the track due to time, however we can give it a good crack and have some fun and turn around at a sensible point.
Requirements -- recovery points Front/Rear, recovery gear, radio, Minimum 2'' Lift, good traction tyres, food/drink of choice, camera.
This run is limited to 10 Jeeps Including leader

Great to see something other than a JK on the list.
now that you have fixed your Jeep Steve you can test it out at Wheeny Creek. Makes sense... Hahaha
Sounds great! Count me in.
What time would this be finishing? Have done the track previously, so know how difficult it can be.
I'll put down as a maybe at the moment...

Hi Fraz,
it it is a difficult track and none of us want to be out all night.
I doubt we will get to the end of the track on the night, we will have to turn around at a reasonable hour.
If all goes well we should be done and airing up by 10.
cheers

nooo, ok, what a shame... Have fun mate
Hi Rob,
This night drive is very different to the one we did in Canberra.
its a difficult track during the day, and even more challenging in the dark. I'd hate to see your car get scratched up.
just wanted to give you the heads up.
cheers
So the weather doesn't look too good...
Im torn between tread lightly and awesome adventure.
i don't want to cause damage to our vehicles or the track, what is the consensus? I don't mind postponing?
Hate to say it but I think postpone :heart-borken:
El Presedente has spoken, and it shall be.

Hi Alex,
I unfortunately will not be able to join you tonight, I am still not well following medical treatment I recently had.
Hopefully I will be able to do a night trip when another is arranged.
Cheers Rob.

As it is written so shall it be done
OK Alex, I got this message.
If those planning to attend can post that they have seen this postponement.
I have mobile numbers for Rupert, Hunty & Bert, but not for Miraz & George. I'll phone those where I can who haven't posted by about 4:30pm today.
