I've had the SS coils for about 18 months now and love them. Great ride and flex is fantastic and only limited by the shock length. I'm running 26" shocks as that's about as long as I wanted to go. I've got it running so that nothing hits anything else when flexing but the longer the shock and the more flex you get the harder that gets. I think my springs could cope with way way longer shocks though before they started to drop out.........in fact I know they could because they were a sh!t to fit even without the shocks connected.....or the LCS's or the driveshaft.......long coils! Any more flex and I'd need aftermarket control arms, new drive shafts and new rims with bigger offset so I'll stick with what I have before I need to remortgage the house.

If we get more people we could potentially split the groups, I could run a group if you like Steve?

we don't want people to miss a day of fun.

I'd love to come but it'll be our first weekend in our new house so SWMBO might have other ideas :grumpy:

While you're all out there having fun think of me unpacking boxes and having riveting conversations about which shade of some colour that I've never heard of she wants to paint the walls with. Damn good job she doesn't read these posts!

If we get a few more on the reserve list that could be a option. The the group gets to big we could just do power line track witch still offers some great challenges. If we get time we could do pipeline.

Last time dave and and I did pipeline it was very rutted out and wouldn't suit every one.

We will see how many we get and go from there.

Last time I came across a group doing pipeline it took them 3 hours with 7 4wds and that was only about 1km of the track

Dave and i did it on about 10min but it was getting very cut out. and has the potential to difficult for the longer wheel base of the 4 door.

Will see how many people we get and judge track conditions once we get there. If this rain keeps up could make for an interesting day even on powerlines

Paul-JK
17-11-13, 07:47 PM
Last time I did Pipeline it was a couple of years ago before the lift, with the old OE tyres, and in the wet. Sounds like it might be a little more challenging now. Would love to see how different it is now that I've got some height, some flex and some traction. I'll have to wait until next time though.

Pipeline is one of those tracks, 5 mins with the right line or 20 mins or more if one of the steps is chewed out and you take the wrong line.

All three steps were well chewed out when I did it about 2 months ago. We can assess the track once we get up there.

Have to say, I had a great trip. Good to see Morgz come alone as a newbie. I only found out that this was his third 4B trip late in the day. Mate good job, you handled everything with head held high. Your TJ will take you more places than you realize it is capable of until you do it a few more times. I hope you enjoyed your trip, having guides like SteveB there make the trip more enjoyable and a better learning experience. Thanks to all the crew, see you on the trails again soon. Jas
