This trip is a get to know you're Jeep trip, not just for beginers but rather an oppertunity to try a bunch of terrain in a small localized area. Have a winch you'd like to try out, want to do a water crossing or try a short steep climb. Its all there and guidance and assistance is available. Bear in mind this is a small technical area and is a good learning area but there will be minimal distance covered so dont expect a day of driving but rather attempting different obstacles and seeing how your jeep works.

Thanks Steve, I don't think I've ever been through there
Just be aware there is construction happening near the entry to the truck stop. No real problem just slight access detours.

Well at least that stops you getting into enough trouble to need the recovery points and spare tyres you were worried about!
On the plus side, at least you might get some sleep this weekend now.

Great turn out and beautifull weather, thanks to WallyD for managing to get bogged and give us someone to recover, and thanks to everyone for being a little patient as I managed to run out of fuel backing out of my driveway this morning and turning up 30 minutes late after a quick run to the servo in the car with the Jerry can and then a proper fill up on the way :)
Another thanks to Mani for showing everyone what happens if you hit a metre deep (or maybe it was a little deeper) water crossing at speed (think water up over the windscreen and roof and in the snorkel!!!) It was that deep that my XJ decided to float for a little and paddle it's way across for a bit. Hunno has some great pics to post up :)
Speaking of Hunno, he showed us how to get a little XJ, (along with Chris C) up steep climbs with nothing more than right foot. Anyway, post up the pics guys and thanks for coming along.
Cheers
