Rydal - Mt Walker Salturday June 1, 2013

Where: Rydal area, Lidsdale State Forest, including Mt Walker, but entering from Great Western Highway opposite Wallerawang turnoff.

This is a repeat of the trip I led on March 24, 2013 (and of many of the tracks used at Jambo.

When - Saturday June 1, 2013

Meet: McDonalds Richmond (if anyone want to meet near Lithgow, let me know)

Time -7:15 am for a departure at 7:30 am sharp.

Grade B-, with the option of Mt Walker which may be a grade higher. I have a 2" lift & 31" tyres, and I have driven it all (except Mt Walker itself)

Requirements -- recovery points Front/Rear, recovery gear, radio, food/drink of choice, camera.

This run is limited to 12 vehicles including leader.

However, if we get more than 12 we can split the group into 2, doing a similar course. We can convoy up from Richmond in one group, then split when we air down.

A rather delayed report on the trip.

I claim the first recovery of the Winter season - 9:15 am on June 1, just 5 minutes after we started on the dirt.

I was watching in my rear view mirror, as Dan had had a bit of instability crossing a deep rut in the trail, and I slipped into an eroded section of the track, requiring John to give me a pull backwards, then me winching myself back onto the track.

Because Dan and John were both in stock vehicles, we modified the original plan to exclude a number of the steeper, slippery slopes.
