Weird, the colour of the text has been set to white? If you highlight the post you can see all the text again. I'll change it back.
Cheers
Steve
This sounds like it might be a good trip to use as a training day for newbies with stock vehicles ... c+ trails, and Steve C as the leader.
Not sure what happened STEVEF must be the colour set I chose which I found as an option here
Also the heading should read Sunday 19TH, can you change that SteveF please?

It would be nice to see a few more Jeeps come along and support the club and it's memebers. It will be a great day out.
Is this place mid way between Lithgow & Bathurst?

Hi Steve, Just need to check work schedule. Everything should be ok, would love to give this a go. Want to get the jeep into 4wd and get it dirty for the first time. Just need to get my radio in. Please add me and I will let you know definitely in the next few days. Thanks mate. Paul :smile-new:
Hi SteveC, it is likely that I will be coming from Bathurst on the Sunday due to a catch up with a mate, would it be possible for a Mt Victoria meetup? or, if Bells Line of Road is taken to the very end, a meetup at Lithgow?

Cheers

i would suggest that it'll be OK for you to go on that trip being a C+ on a stock JKU. I did it with a stock 29" Grand. You'll enjoy it so much that you'll get online immediately after the trip and join up ! :highly_amused:
Then again it's not up to me...

It should be OK but it would be better if you had mud tyres but that depends on track being wet or not.
Please make sure you have recovery points front and back.

We can meet up at My Victoria as it's actually shorter distance that way rather than through Lithgow. It should be about 9.15am
but please confirm attendance.

thanks AV8 and SteveC. anyother things needed? winch? I just installed an arb bumper but no winch yet. will the stock recovery point at the rear be ok? or what are the options? do we need to bring extra petrol?
Cheers

The rear loop is OK for recovery in the rear and if you have a tow bar even better. Tow bars for JK's are worth it as they are less than $200.
While a winch is helpful it is not necessary on this trip. There will be others with a winch. It is better to have rated recovery points on front. Not sure if the arb has them on or not.
However as part of club policy you should carry a recovery kit. At least a snatch strap and at least two rated bow shackles.
The trail is not that long but fill up at convenient stop on the way
Stay away from tow balls, as they sometimes grow wings. You wouldn't want a broken tow ball hitsiles through the Jeep or worse through yer noggin. Get a hitch shackle.

Sounds good - will definitely be along - whether I meet you all @ Maccas in Richmond or up in Mt Victoria! Hopefully it doesn't rain too much up there so my stock 2 door isnt stranded too often haha

Todd - as always, a scholar & a gentleman!

is the meeting place still in mcdonalds richmond? is this the ine at the corner ir march and east market st?
Haaaa! Very Dan D, if only I can clone myself but then again I'm not Polish German. :pirate: . My better half is Czech German, close but no Cigar..As for me, I'm a mongrel, so no chance in heaven? Our WJ got bit/eaten by a Horse the last time we were on that trail. Still keeping the scratch for the memory's sake. It was fun doing it for the first time on my own ( Hill End-Sofala-Capertee) and at night.
We're away on that weekend, :very_drunk: fortunate or unfortunately, so no go.
Vstanman, just fill up near Macca's Richmond. There are a couple gas (gasoline) stations there. I got a few bewildered looks during my first outing with the club, sporting 2x20L Jerries, but then again, I always get that look. Hmmm, wasn't the Jerries after all !!
You pipple enjoy! Might want to rug up though :cold:
With night time temps at/below freezing, it'll be slipppery when icy.
Hot coffee, a selection of cheese, quince, crackers, grapes, caviar?.... cool. I guess Chardonnay at home, huh?? :smile-new:. I'm easy, Singapore Noodles with bullet chillis :boxing: will do me..
Please put me down for this one, the transfer case in the Waggie needs to have the chain splash some fluid around. Hopefully I don't have anything come up that changes my plans, has been the story of my life lately.
See U at 0800.
Cheers
Please put me down. I don't see any movement on the Mt Airlie trip.
Cheers
Wally
Just a reminder for those attending (or attending other trips for that matter) that you have appropriate recovery gear and recovery points.
In particular snatch strap and two rated bow shackles PLUS recovery point on front and rear of your jeep.
If you are not sure, do not hesitate so please post up and we can provide advice. or call me Steve on 0411853859
Thanks
BTW if you are unable to commit or something comes up, please let us know so we don't wait for you
Thanks
Steve
I'm definitely out at Conowindra on the Saturday & night, where do you want me to wait at Mt Victoria? Will be there for a 9:15am meetup
steve what type of break will it be for lunch so i can arrange want to bring please
DanD, I think u will be better off meeting at Lifgo Maccas, since the meeting point is Richmond Maccas, they more than likely will be going up Bells Line
Please correct me if I'm wrong
If you are meeting us in Lithgow, I would suggest the Miners Lamp as Maccas can get very busy and car park gets full. Make sure you let us know where you will be.

Though "my victoria" could be closer to Chatswood. ;)
No offense Steve...
I want to get a club's shirt. Can anyone point me in the right direction.
Thanks
We will meet at richmond maccas then up bells line road then turn left 10 k before lithow at mt victoria turnoff. We wont be going throughlithgow city. Saves abt 20k
I hope that clarifies it
Steve
Lunch is simple affair no bbqs please. No facility like that really
Looking forward to Sunday, should have the Hemma maps installed in the GPS by then.
I want to get a club's shirt. Can anyone point me in the right direction.
Thanks Come to the next club meeting and raise the point there. If we have taken in enough new members since the last order, (we need to place an order for 25 shirts), there is the possibility of another shirt run.
Thanks ill bring my cooker for coffee and noodles if its going to be cold
Steve - what channel on the UHF are you going to be on? I'll wait for you all where the road from bells line of road goes into mt Victoria and as I most likely wont have net access tomorrow, my number is 0404881481 incase there are any issues - see you Sunday! Should be a chilly morning!
DanD channel15uhf is the official club channel

Could this be a sticky, together with other club stuff such as T Shirts, Stickers, Association Stickers, Convoy Procedures, Etiquette, 4WD Tips: winching, deep water crossing, recovery, Hill Asc/Dsc etc. Or is it already a sticky?
I had to ask the same question a few weeks ago much to the chagrin of a member...:highly_amused:

Can we keep this thread on track (get it track...) please?
Thread drift, roger that.
Thousand apologies Steve,
I was supporting a valid argument but should've been on it's own thread.:shame:
Have a great trip out !
Plans have changed - see you all at Richmond Maccas! (don't ask...)
Does anyone know if there is a servo, Mt Vic side that has LPG. would like the Waggie to be topped off b4 hitting the trail.
The Caltex at Mt Vic does not have LPG.

I'm glad you guys enjoyed it. and special thanks for your complements guys plus some nice photos.
The weather was excellent but bloody cold where we aired down
It was a good introduction for the new guys though it was quite sedate as the tracks had been flattened out and it was dry too.
I'll try to find more challenging tracks next time if interested.
ps I kept hearing rumblings from the newbies about spending $$$.. ohhh no they have the bug already............
pss It was fantastic to see the many colours.

Strewth Steve, we could have stopped for coffee and cake on the Bells and still made it back home sooner than the GWH. Nice day out thanks all. Doggy Dave..:indecisiveness:
I know Dave - the traffic was unbearable it was so tiring I ended up with my head on the pillow at 8.30pm!! - snooozed away
So glad we went Bells .. stopped to buy apple pie at Bilpin at 3.30 then went on to buy cream at Coles in Ropes Crossing . Home at 4.45.
Sent from my GT-S6102 using Tapatalk 2
We drove around for about an hour and then headed home along gwh was a mess but did find a little creek crossing
Damn GWH is getting worse - as soon as it opened up there were stuff all cars on the road - It was s Sunday though which would explain a lot of the shocking driving :/
