Due to past weather (apparently a lot of damage to tracks and fallen trees) we may have to postpone this ONCE again PLUS have no one to lead this on 9th, but will post up later this week & discuss at Wednesday meeting.
Most likely reschedule for 16 or 17 March.
let me know who wants to still attend & when?

Wait to see the weather report later in the week.
If we cant get up into that area would any one be keen to come for a drive to an area that drains well ?

On our second day of no rain and warm weather up here on the Central Coast. Same goes for the forecast Wednesday and Thursday. I think you've pulled the pin a little early. If it stays like this for the next three days it will be almost perfect conditions on the tracks. I'm all for preventing undue damage to tracks, but if you continues to veto trips a week before they are due to run, based only on the previous weeks weather, then you'll never get out!

Still doesn't remove my point Steve. You are making a very early call based on weather up to the day you said "may". This whole gently gently approach is getting a bit too gentle for my liking. Yes we don't wheel when its been bucketing down with rain the preceding days. But to doubt the viability of the tracks a week before is just ridiculous. We're becoming our own nanny state within a nanny state. Anyway, I'm going fishing instead, whilst I still can before the government create another marine park on my favourite fishing ground.
If I was worried about the nanny state then I would not have driven in mud and pouring rain last weekend up some serious hills.
It's based on people who live five minutes away who told me about current conditions and to be prepared. Do you want to remove trees for 6 hours? I didn't think so.
If you don't like it then don't sign up on my trips.
Why not lead your own? I see little leadership.

Where ? Tasmania?
I was thinking Rydal but will wait to see what the weather is like later in the week
Settle down guys lets keep it friendly
i likethe rain, it washes my car for me..........

Current reports from residents in the area are that they've had a lot of rain and a lot of this water is still around.
The outlook for Saturday looks like it is set to continue.
your app shows weather for sydney, and the iphone weather app is terrible, dont make a call till friday night............ or jsut go out and wheel in the rain
Rey,
my iPhone app has been spot on for the last 3 months & is for saying rain Friday night & all day Sunday.
i can't even walk on the grass as I sink ankle deep. It hasn't rained for4 days now & the gutter is still running a foot wide.
I spent a chunk of it yesterday helping to recover a Patrol from the watagan's - took 8 of us nearly 16 hours to move it 3km!
It's very wet up there at the moment!!
Thanks guys for input. I like the Watagans but the watagans holds water for long time and there are parts that get so bogged up you need to winch for hours, even if you get one person through. I like the short winch jobs but not for hours on end.
besides some one said there were plenty of trees across the roads
We can make a call late Thursday if OK.
Please post up after this post - if you are definitely coming, if we go ahead.

I am keen for this Saturday.
If we get there and its to bad we can always head back and into Ourimbah
I am sure we can find some where to drive
SLIGHT CHANGE OF PLANS
We will meet at McDonalds in Thornleigh at 8am. From who ever turns up , we will discuss the route
I'm hoping to go through Watagans and check out the main routes and decide what tracks are safe and worth doing.

I'm keen to go if the trip is still on and we aren't going to do any damage.
After yesterday's great sun I can now walk on most of my lawn, so if it keeps up there could be a good chance of some dry tracks.

I might get chance tomorrow to go across the freeway and have a look. Hasn't rained (properly) since the weekend now. Had a 5 minute light rain Wednesday morning. As long as it doesn't piss down again you will be fine. It has been 28 degrees in Tuggerah and Woongarrah for the last 3 days.
Rey don't know why you need the rain to wash your car.. it never gets dirty anyway.
Blue skies this morn from the hilly westie land...

Thanks for organising and leading another enjoyable trip Steve C.
5 vehicles just worked nicely - no long queues or hold ups. The track we went down got harder and harder and we were seriously hoping that we would be able to exit at the bottom end as a return trip back to the top promised to be a bit of a struggle. As it turned out the track was completely blocked with fallen bushes right near the bottom, so we had no option but to retrace our steps and head back to the top. The funny thing was - it actually felt easier going back up than it did going down. The Flatfender was in its element today and never put a foot wrong, a bit of hand throttle and 2nd low gear and it got up everything with ease and no need for lockers. Now to tackle all the dust everywhere!
Cheers
Ian W.

exellent day out today, i have some good shots of all cars, loads of flex ,air and mud. will get them on asap. Thanks Steve, top day, even with the leaches, god i hate leaches.
How far down was the track blocked?
This was my first trip with the club, i enjoyed the company, advise, scenery and challenges.
The tracks gave my adrenaline glands a work out and now i cant wait for the next trip (not before i get rid of the dust from inside the cabin)
A special thanks to Steve, Steve, Dave and Ian for making me feel welcome from the time i walking into McDonald's Thornleigh.

After worrying about conditions because of rain, you seem to have had a problem with dust. Typical.

Maggie - Think Positive and good things come. We decided the worse thing that could have happened was we go for a run and turn around.
Miraz - We ended up as far down to the sharp left at a boggy drop off which opens up a bit. Around that corner there was a fallen tree and then another narrow drop off where there was a huge bush. too much uncertainty about what lay ahead, so we did a 22 point turn and went back up.
not sure how much there was to do though ..
