I have discovered a missing selector cable bush after fitting the new front shaft does anybody know where I can get one in the next few days as ill need 4wd over the Xmas break thanks Todd

Todd suggest a chat with Nobby (on AJOR or LOST) as he had exactly the same problem and came up with a solution that he sourced from Clark Rubber (I think). It's a non-servicable part and not listed in the Parts Fiche, the only way to get it fixed was to buy a complete cable assembly which is a joke as you know. I have Nobby's phone number if you want to give him a call (I'll get his ok first before releasing it).

thanks glend i sent a message to 04kjextreme as he commented on he did clark rubber also but i tried there today with no joy at penrith, could you send me a pic of the cable and end if you still have that spare for yours you purchased , thanks for your help again

Todd here are some photos of the cable end where the bushing is located. The first one is a screen shot from my inspection camera - I could not get close to it with the camera because the bash plate is covering the area and I didn't want to take it off. The other shots are of my spare transfer case cable assembly and shows the end very well. BTW, I am not selling that. It gives you some idea of what you need to clamp the cable to the transfer case selector post. As suggested above, ring Wooders and see if they have something that will work as that transfer case is used in other Jeeps as well NG 242 I think.

Ok thanks very much I got a repair done with another option but will end up buying a spare complete cable for a just in case
