What an awesome day. Thanks Steven for leading us through. Also for your spotting. Another day without incident. We ended up with a group of 17 jeeps for this trip. Most of us got right to the end and a small group decided to head back before the last climb.
Wheeney creek definately changed a little since the last time I was there and was was slightly more challenging.
Well done to all that attended :)
Skizzi
Would love to come along

Hey greg just an idea.
If there are a lot of takers we could split the group in two and one group leaves 1 hour later?
Just a suggestion, Let me know what you think.
I am happy to lead a group in there as i know track

good idea stev we just need to stay intouch so if we need to pass we meet at one of the wide sections
Good call, then we can all go.

Hey guys,
Put me the reserve list.. Just In case it becomes 2 trips.
( or a lot of people drop out )
Drew
Splitting is a good idea. 2 groups on the same day or 2 trips over 2 days. I don't want anyone to miss out ;)

We all could leave richmond at the same time
I could lead up to where the trail starts and then it one track from there. easy to follow with no intersections to navigate
The first group could head off and the second group could wait and head of after an agreed time.
My recommendation is no more than 9-10 in each group. This is due to the track being difficult an challenging in areas and we would need a place to pass the returning group. There are a few places to pass
Let me know what you think.
Just thinking on this it wouldn't matter if we all started together, as long as we place one capable vehicle & driver every couple of cars. As we'll be waiting around anyway, then the group can spilt up as needed for recoveries & will serve to keep others from getting in the mix.
Steven.Boyd
06-12-12, 09:21 PM
That is also a good option, If we do go with that then we would still need to limit the number of attendees to 18-20.
In my opinion I would not take any more than that due to the parking space at the look out and the amount of time to get to the end and back
my estimation on time to get that many jeeps to the end and back out 5 hours
It's up to greg as it is his trip on which way we do it, I am happy to help where i can

Great day out guys!
Thanks to Greg for calling the trip and Steve for showing us the way to do it.
I decided that some of the rock steps on the last climb were a bit much for an old fart with only an 80" wheelbase and my son had to be back in sydney early rather than late anyway. Both enjoyed the day though!
Loved your Jeep, Flatfender. A great machine :)

Guys, despite bending the bumper, fuel tank bash plate and a slider a little, I had an absolute blast. I'm like Miraz tho, had to get back home for a knock down fight about being selfish. Lost again....
Still, it was (almost?) worth it. Thanks heaps for organising this, not only would I have never found that track any other way, but I'd also have picked the wrong lines - no doubt!!

2020lots of jeeps having fun
Considering the size of the group I think we all did really well to get to the end and back in the time we took :)
Cheers to Greg for organising the trip and Steve for spotting almost the entire convoy in sections, great first trip out with SJC. Looking forward many more trips.
I took heaps of footage, I'll edit and post the finished product (most likely next week) if anybody would like copies of the raw footage, please PM me. I shot over 17GB of footage meaning there is lots of footage of most jeeps.

I was the only one who needed to be pulled out, tried a harder climb on the way out that the little TJ could handle.
Looking forward to seeing the footage

Video is finished.
Ive uploaded the video to a drop box that ive set up. This has the advantage that you can download the video to your iPad to keep.
Video has been saved to suit an iPad, however i can copy of High Quality version upon request and USB. :)
Hope you like it...

Hmmm get an error message saying "Sydney jeep club videos does not exist.
Me too - I think that URL is only valid for you...if you go into the drop box website, select the folder and right click then you will have the option to generate a link that can be shared with other people.
You just need to change the settings on that folder to shared so others can view it
Sorry Guys, not sure what happened when i copied the URL, Try this one

Are there any members who use Premiere Video editing?
Wheeny creek was only my 5th video that i have ever edited. Id like to speak with anybody who uses Premiere in respect to export settings as id like to improve the export quality (suitable for iPads)

If you could all do me a big favour, could you please sign up for Dropbox when prompted. This has 2 advantages,
1- It gives me an additional 500mg storage space on my end. (ie videos, transferring raw footage)
2- YOU get an online storage space all of your own that is completely FREE and available to be accessed by you from any computer at any time !! :)

Nice work, Rhino! I joined DB too, hope that helps your storage limit.
G'day all,
Cheers to all who have joined my Dropbox, It certainly helps to have additional storage.
I have cleaned up the formating in the wheeny creek video i collated, The vision is far better than the original version.
