G'day All,

I have been fitting ED falcon rear disc brakes to my 97 TJ, I also pulled the whole diff out as well due to some cracks discovered on the shock mounts and wasn't game to weld them in position, too close to the fuel tank for my liking. I'm just waiting on new spring isolators to arrive and then I'll complete the install.

question is, anyone know if there are any mods to be made to the master cylinder so the rear brakes don't lock up before the front, maybe like fitting a valve in the rear brake lines to limit the fluid flow.

any help would be appreciated.

Snoik.

maybe use the proportioning valve out of a Zj?
that is the common thing to do when putting disks on the back of a XJ.
you can also get adjustable proportioning valves but as to how you would set up an adjustable proportioning valve is beyond me.
adjustable proportioning valve:
Designed for dual bowl master cylinders and incorporates an adjustableproportioning valve (http://www.jegs.com/c/Brakes-Drivetrain_Proportioning-Valves-and-Balance-Bars/10165/10002/-1) and a distribution block into one unit

good luck with it.

I recently put zj discs on the back of my tj have to say probably the best mod I have done...

I haven't changed the proportioning and don't have any problems with rears locking.. maybe wait and see how it goes as you may not need them..

I reckon the 37's were your best mod
