Where -- Zigzag Lithgow
When -- Saturday 31st March
Meet -- Richmond Maccas 7.45am
Time -- Shoot off from maccas at 8am with convoy procedures.
Grade -- B, C grade
Requirements -- recovery points Front/Rear, recovery gear, radio, food/drink of choice, camera.
This run is limited to 10 vehicles including leader.

This should be the trip I can hopefully run for the jambo.
Weather permitting...
Will be 2 trips if this fills and hopefully get someone to lead the 2nd group since I'm testing a possible jambo track.
Ps. I will be camping at rydal with the other club members who are sketching the showground on saturday night.

Yeah, I've been thinking about going from Richmond maccas to Rydal showground and start my tracking/mapping from there.
It's not too far and allows anyone on the trip to see the showground.
Pls put me down as a reserve.

New to this thread/club.
But keen to join and see what you guys are all about.
I've done this trip about 3 times now. Don't claim to be an expert tho.
Hopefully a second group can get organised...loved to learn new things off you blokes.

Also, thanks to Nekked; the track I'm doing is the Beecroft Fire trail. Through Zigzag down to Wolgan Rd. I personally class it as a C trip and into a B+ trip after bad weather.
After Saturdays fiasco with a huge tree, I'm going to invest in a chainsaw just in case and bring it along.
If the trip is too short, we can always finish up at the look out where Nekked took us.
I don't think we willever get stuck behind a tree again. Everyone is going to have a chainsaw... Hahaha
Great suggestion on the lookout, I think everyone will enjoy the view. Only trip time will tell...
Like the idea BUT You need to be aware of where you can legally bring and/or use a chainsaw

Bloody national parks, would save them a crap load of work letting 4wders clear trees........
So here's a question...forgive my ignorance to what may be a very dumb question but - what's the policy with vehicles not 'Jeep' wanting to participate in these trips? I'm guessing there is a strict no no with bringing friends along who haven't joined the dark side yet.

Its OK to bring others as guests so long as their attendence is not at the expense of club members.

That's logical and reasonable. He has just bought himself an FJ cruiser and want's to get it dirty. Don't blame him. If it is alright with the rest of the lads and room does open up (and a leader for the second group found) then put him as a reserve...worst case he can just hop into our ride if it doesn't work out I suppose.

I'd be very interested to see how the FJ cruiser will go. Can you find out whether he has recovery hooks as this will be a prerequisite on any of our trips. Not saying he'll need to use them, but there is a possibility for all attendees.

Hi guys please put us down as a reserve...it's been a long time since I've been to zigzag... And it will be a few months befor I can go on another trip.
In to have a knee reconstruction on the 2nd so I'll be out from doing fun stuff for a while... Atleast it should be healed and strong for jambo.

Think you can legally take a chainsaw into a N/Park provided the cutting chain is detached from the saw........ Go figure??.............. Using one is another story..........

Ladies n gents, My jeep is currently getting its exhaust replaced, lpg taken out and long range tank put in this week and next week.
2nd time setting up zigzag and it goes down the drain. So I won't make it to this trip again.
Seeing as there is so many people, I will leave the trip up but it will require 2 trip leaders...
Why don't you run shot gun with some body.

Would love to ride shotgun with someone but I didn't want the trouble getting someone all the way out to Dulwich Hill, Camp and all the way back again with all the gear.
My Jeep has been long overdue for its overhaul on the exhaust, brakes and fuel tank to be replaced and the parts only recently came in.
My last trip was under 120km per 60L tank... :grief:

Actually I have good news now lol. I may have a mate that is willing to lend me his XJ for this Saturday. Nothing fancy but will get this trip under-way.

Its a pretty easy track to navigate shouldn't be to much of a problem. Still waiting to know who's camping out at Rydal?

Seriously wtf is going on this week... I've just done my leg in with work today. Punch a hole in my leg with a 5 kg sharp steel pole.

No worries Steve. all is good. Camping at Rydal is open to everyone. Eddy the plan was to camp at the Jambo sight and do some planning etc. All are welcome its your club, your Jambo.
Can you take out YAQOOT +1. He has to work Saturday. Sucks to be him.

Thanks for taking over for me Wolfe. With my leg down, jeep down and work commitments this week things didn't go according to plan :grumpy:

Ok so we are down to 14 That should be ok for one trip. How does everyone feel about some exploring? I'm thinking of trying to head down towards Farmers Creek Dam and explore some tracks around there? Before doing the usual pipeline etc

Hey guys...
I'm sad to say it guys but I'm out!
I had a bit of a problem with the XJ this morning... Battery was flat when I tried to start it... (not so bad in if that was it) but when I tried to open the bonnet, the cable broke!! So I'm taking out headlamps and trying to get the bonnet open and sort battery out in the morning.
I'll be on the next one

Awesome trip, thanks heaps guys. Was good to prove up all the mods I've done as well!
Fantastic trip. Great bunch of blokes and vehicles and really learnt a lot and a great experience. Did lots of filming and photography - but before I share them around or put something together - if anyone has any cool clips or shots they wanna send me so I can put it all together in some sort of video send them to me at sab.rohan@gmail.com
The video of course will be pre-approved by Wolfe before it is uploaded to the members only section.
Great day out guys, soo much variety of tracks and experience.
Thanks for everyones patience while getting my car up and running again after it died on the pipelines track. Special thanks to Wolfe and Jbrad? for getting under the car and fixing the problem.

I could not camp over in the end at Rydal Showground, had to come home for personal reasons. Hope you guys had fun though.
