Can I ask what size wheel most JK owners upgraded to.

I.E. 16 or 17", width & I'm particularly interested to know the Backspace please.

G-Day Steve,
All depends on year model JK you have, 07 - 09 you can down size to 16" after 09 the brake calipers changed size, so you are restricted to 17" or up.

I have a 07, so I went with 16" x 8" King Steelies, 4 & 1/4" backspacing (almost neutral offset).

Got them from Glen at JAX Liverpool Ph:0298214142

Hope this helps

Cheers

Thanks Andy
I asked as I have a WJ which can use either 16 or 17 and want to get a set that will be compatible with the JK if and when I upgrade (in other words same some future $$$). So it was good to know that the 09 on wards need 17".
In saying that its hard to find a Jeep compatible steel 17" wheel with backspace of 4.5 or 4.75"(preferred). so if any one knows, then please advise.
Steve

Can someone tell me if the standard 17" x7.5 JK wheels have 6.25" b/space or 6". And does the Rubicon have different ones?

and if any one wants to get "rid" of their JK wheels, I'm happy to lighten your load
Steve
Thank you

im pretty sure the callipers on the jk's are the same part numbers all the way through the production line......... red rubi, maybe try putting one of your wheels on an 09 or newer one at the meeting to test the theory?

I had 16's it depends on the rim but I know for a fact that 16's don't fit a 2010 model a friend I work with bought some aev wheels in a 16 and they don't fit.. hunty has a 2007 build dates from October 09 all have larger front brake calipers on the front rear remains the same, they also have a larger brake booster and master cylinder
