Hi Guys
Planning a day out at Lake Lyle on Saturday 03/12/2011.... Will be doing mostly C+ grade with very little B. Will be almost no deep water crossings only one will be about 10 inches or less. All the deep water is stagnant and stinky. I am planning to be back on the road by 1500 Hrs. All type of Jeeps welcome. If a new member wants to attend u r welcome, If someone wants to ride with me I have a couple of free seats......
Where -- Lake Lyle @ Lithgow,
When -- Saturday 03/12/2011,
Meet -- At Richmond Macca's at 0730 Hrs, depart by 0745 Hrs to travel in convoy to the Lithgow or meet at Lithgow Shell Station (1, Great western Hwy, South Bowenfels) @ 0900 Hrs,
Grade -- "C+ with a little bit of B"
Requirements -- recovery points Front/Rear, recovery gear, radio, food/drinks of choice, camera. I have a spare 5watt handheld if someone new needs one...
This run is limited to 20 vehicles including me. If we fill all we will split into two and explore 2 different areas.............
Guys I know a little bit of Lake Lyle area and intend to see some more tracks, so this will be a light trip including some exploration of the area to locate some tracks we did with the club. If u know more tracks or u have logged previous club trips on ur GPS u r more than welcome to lead.

No worries mate, U r on the reserve list... Keep checking the list, people do drop out on the last day and u have a great big chance of getting on the trip.... BTW what Jeep u drive and any mods done to it......

As others have said to me on my 1st trip, go out as it is and you will find out what you will need for your xj. Then the bug bites :hypnotysed:

Should be right for the easy track I am doing.... But wait till u see Wolfe's and SteveF's XJs.... as Tim said once the bug bites then sky is the limit.....

Yup with the 2 withdrawals we have space for your guest.... Just make sure his Jeep has decent tyres and basic recovery poits....

Weather forecasf for Lithgow on saturday..... Light clouds during fhe day... Clouds increasing towards 5pm..... No rain..... Temperature to vary between 8 degree C and 15 degree C....... Trip is on, arrange clothing accordingly.......

Trip Report
The trip was planned as a single trip but later on because of the interest expressed it was expanded into 2 groups one tough grade exploration trip and one easy medium..... We met up at the Richmond Meccas about 0730 Hrs and left for Lithgow about 0750 Hrs in a convoy of 13 Jeeps. Rest were to meet up at Lithgow Shell station. The list of attendees is as under

We Split into 2 groups The Tough exploration group was headed by SteveF other member of this group were Ivan, Geoff, Chris @ Cpage666, Chris (New Member). The tough group headed to Rydal and started their trip from there. Rest of us headed from shell over the dam to our usual starting point. Turned into the bush and aired down and disconnected and headed to the quarry. Another group was already conducting their training so we all hurriedly climbed the quarry without any hassle and headed towards the next climb. We got to the little rutted climb just before the powerlines climb. Every one had a bit of fun but the climb was a lot more rutted than before. Rainman had a few valiant attempts at it before staking his rear left tyre on a rock. That was the only damage to report on this trip. I would not recommend this climb to any car without 35s and Lockers. We continued onto the powerlines climb and every car cleared without any hassles what so ever. Got upto the clearing and continued on towards the fenceline. Turned left at the fence and got to the Cox's River Crossing. It was a bit deep due the recent rains but safe enought for a stock car to cross. Got a decent underbody wash. Continued along the river and met the other group having lunch at the bottom of a nice short but interesting climb. Both groups climbed it and Ivan produced some nice wheel lifting action. After the climb we Stopped for lunch. We continued along bypassing the tough tracks and passed Mount Walker. Continued along some dirt tracks and came across the three sisters. Climbed the easy one. We followed a little dirt road to the main road. We got to the main road about 1420 Hrs... Aired up and Connected the swaybars. We were back on the road by 1445... I was back home about 1600 Hrs.
