Hi Jose,
I'll be there. Heathcote maccas is good for me. Will we get a chance to take a look at the "rock gardens" off DGR that you mentioned in an earlier post? :smile-new:

Wattle track/steps

Wombat steps

Stop in at berry pub for counter dinner

Hoping that next week we have minimal rain as this will affect the tracks I propose to do.
Otherwise tracks/area will be
Wombat steps to log bridge track then Monkey gum ft which is challenging in the wet.

Obviously the other tracks/steps are in the same area and will check them out on our way through.

Yes looking forward to next week... Love Yalwal. ;)

I'm going to have to bale on this trip as haven't had chance to fix XJ yet. No rego, half way through wiring second "switchboard" under rear seat etc. need brownie points, dogs left house, wife's sick, kids on strike, mother in law visiting, been asked to play lawn bowls for Sri Lanka, Elle Macpherson wants my opinion on her new line of underwear, cat died, neighbours keep chucking their rubbish over fence, my nephew made a bet with a bookie and it turns out to be a cover for a Columbian drug cartel who are now trying to hunt him down and kill him and he's gone of to a witness protection program in Brooklyn, not the one in America but the one in Greenland (funny how Greenland is covered in Ice and Iceland is covered in grass) so I have to feed his bird.

Really want to get down to Yalwal soon though, it's one area that I'm not that familiar with and would like to learn more about...

G-day Jose,

It's with much regret :grief: I'm going to have to withdraw from this trip. I've stuffed my back and the Doc says NO! Needles in the spine don't mix well with 4x4ing according to the experts!

Kev thanks for the offer, but my old man won't be comming so dosen't need a seat.

Real P---ED OFF!! have been hanging to do Yallwal.

Lots of photos please!

Cheers

Jose,

Just confirming that you don't need a lift - if you don't have your Jeep you will go with Kev. If that's the case, you are welcome to ride with me part of the way, and I'll be happy to drop you home at the end of the day (assuming my little TJ survives the day!).
Charging the batteries in the Video camera as I type...

What a great day. Some great tracks. I want to get back there ASAP

Well done to Greg and Les on that last challenge before I split. Kev... 2 more inches ;) Dave showed how capable his rig is as usual. It was great to do a days wheeling ( including winching and snatching) and getting home in time to keep the misses happy with no damage in the group.

Well done Jose on finding those tracks, we have to go back with your dieselcon :)

It was a great day again with great friends. Got a bit sunburnt, minimal damage except some good scratches on most rock sliders.... Sorry Les, some good sill damage... Plenty of winching aswell. Am uploading some of the vids from today. Thanks for the day guys. Will be doing this area again soon.

Yalwal is such a great place, no crowds at wombat flats this time either! Top day with top people. Well done to Les (spike) in his mighty XJ.
Big thanks to Jose for the trip and the whereabouts of the rock gardens. So who is going to have a crack at "Triple Bypass Hill" ? Y'know that easy looking ramp in your photo in the Yalwal cleanup thread.

Heres the link to the buggy climbing it:

Sorry about the quality...I couldn't control my shakes.
The videos don't show it but most of the time we were climbing steep inclines or going down steep descents. Mad place indeed.

This vid you can see Greg climbing down, pretty dam steep. Just as we all got up there was another group getting ready to climb. However there was a good step at the bottom that this guy was unable to do without plenty of right foot. And on his last attempt snapped his rear axle. The jeeps made this climb look easy.

Nice. I'll give it a go as well, as long as there is someone at the top to winch off coz I don't think I'll make it up

Dieselcon
20-11-11, 06:28 PM
I'll be the winch up the top. Even that vid that DK posted looks tame( must be an older video). That triple bypass is alot worse now...... It will be a massive effort to make it up. I'll be there with dieselcon....or not.

haha Yes they are guys from the shoalhaven, so yes locals...I met them yesterday and they were quiet funny. the Drivers weren't drinking but their mates had an esky full of beer.

I went for a drive yesterday to walk the 6 stager when I crossed these guys and started chating about yalwal tracks and just tagged along for the ride.
