View Full Version : Lockers
Are there lockers that fit Jeeps with a Dana 44? Any advice please?
Yup - I've got a second hand D44 ARB locker if you want it...

I'm guessing Steve means the D44A in the WJ and not the D44?
Cheers

Yes I think you're right Steve but in all my years I have never worked out exactly what diff it has and what I can do with it. I think mine is a Dana 44 (226RBA) with a NV-247 transfer case with Vari-Lok (http://www.wjjeeps.com/varilok.jpg) axles.
Not sure what the difference between 44 and 44a, if I do in fact have a 44a??
The Rear Beam Aluminum axle housing has a cast aluminum center differential housing with axle shaft tubes extending from either side. The tubes are pressed into the differential housing. The axles are semi-floating supported by the axle shaft and bearings.
So Im not sure what I can use as a locker if anything, as it has a system called quadra drive but I'm wondering if I can change that with a normal select on demand type of locker (of course cheaply)
Steve
Then your only option is an axle swap or a lunchbox locker...

The 'A' in 44A means Aluminium so yep, you have a D44A
