I've got a set of stock JK rims and tyres - you are welcome to try them for size - AFAIK, they should fit just fine

Hi Miraz
Thanks for your offer but before that, I wanted to know the size, and Back Space of the wheels. Also what is the standard tyre size they come with?
Steve

Use this calculator to help you do the comparison - http://www.rimsntires.com/specs.jsp

In the meantime...

New ones come with Goodyear 245/75/17

Mine had the 255/75/17's on it....took the size off the sidewall of the tyres

The WJ came with 17 x 7.5" with Backspace 6.25" and Ofset 50.8mm. Thus the JK wheel is not exactly the same but in saying that it (its close) has a smaller backspace which is what Im after. Though I'd prefer a bit less again, in order to bring the wheel/tyre a bit further out for clearance.
What you think guys?

also what should I look for when replacing wheels, probably a set of steelies.

Try Wooders-- IMHO King steel wheels are the best, Aussie owned/made. Do not know if they make a 17x8 rim's though.............

Now that I've got the new axles in place (8 stud) - I've got a spare set of aftermarket wheels with a little more offset...nice alloys though, not sure you would like them :-)

17x8.5 5" backspace +6mm offset
