View Full Version : JKS Sway bar disconnects

G'day

As per my recent damage to my original sway bar links and repair by TBN8R, I am in the future, going to purchase some disconnects, after contacting wooders they are concerned about my OME 2" lift as they have heard that the OME can give you more lift then claimed, and unfortunately i did not measure before and after. Should I go with the JKS 0-2" or the 2.5-4"?

0-2". Your springs will settle after time plus the weight of gear/passengers and additional mods down the line ( ie. bumpers, winch, cage) will further compress your springs giving you less lift.

Unless of course you foresee yourself running a larger lift in the immediate future then I would go with the 2.5-4". It depends on YOUR future plans and needs.

the only other mod that I will be doing anytime soon is larger tyres 35's if possible, will the 0-2" still be ok?

I recon go the 2.5 - 4 and set them on the shortest setting.

Larger tires does not give you more suspension lift just further lift from the ground. So you would still have 2" of suspension lift. As long as you aren't going to be playing with the suspension then my previous comment stands.

I got myself a set of disconnects from wooders on Thursday and have just put them on. I got the 2 inch set as advised but did have to adjust to get the sway bay as close as 0 degree as my eye could see. Can you please have a look at my photos and advise if they look correct?

As long as the swaybar is level, or slightly up, then you should be fine.

When I took the originals off the swaybar was well under level.

If anytghing its probably slightly under level now, easy enough to take off and do again.

Do I treat the passenger side as the passenger side or is it reverse due to being an american product?

Looks right to me as per installation instructions http://www.jksmfg.com/support/install_qrd_pn2030_2034.pdf Just their passenger side is our driver side.......... Next time u r out with friends just take them off, swing the swaybar to its highest position and see the improvement in flex......

Not thinking American, I have place the squared off lower mounting post on the passenger side and the Tapered lower mounting post on the drivers side. Is this correct for the Aussie model?

The photo is correct. The lower pins face inwards ie: remove to the centre of the vehicle.







And yes,


The US passenger side is our drivers side, so reverse where applicable.

Hi Ash,

If u can put hem on and take them off without trouble it wont matter which side it is on. I checked on my JK it is on the Aussie passenger side and I never noticed it giving me any trouble...
