A few minor bits that I think could be debated in that blurb.
For starters I think you could probably say Porsche is the "oldest offroad brand". Eveb Dodge predates Jeep.
The term "Jeep" was also used by the mechanics for untested vehicles long before 1940.
Good to see they got the GP definition correct.
But no mention of the ACTUAL current military Jeep applications.
I don't think it was Willys that trademarked the "Jeep" name. I am pretty sure it was under AMC that the Jeep name was trademarked.
Only a small number of CJ6's were converted to tray back "overlands. Not all.
Also whilst for a period the CJ5/6 got the Ford engine - but early 70's they were AMC engines.
No mention of Willys 4wd trucks/wagons - Which in many really were the precursors to the current 4x4 market.
I also always find it funny that Chrysler claims Jeep from 1941, when infact Bantam first delivered the BRC-40 in Sept 1940 and Willys the quad in about November. Trust Chysler to stuff that one up ;).

Ummm, from what I've read,
The original trademark brand-name application was filed in February 1943 by Willys-Overland.

And the patent was awarded in June 1950.
