G'day Jeepers
Post up if you would like to be in the SJC Class Photo of 2011 - I am thinking of somewhere Awesome & iconic, Sydney Harbour, Operahouse fore court etc on a date to be discussed / agreed later.
Expressions Of Interest only at this time as I haven't obtained any photographic permissions re locations etc.
I guess I will canvass this at the next meeting (if I can get there, might have a long day & still be at work on a shoot D'oh) or The Honourable Bear to canvass for me!
post up if you are interested in coming along with your Jeep - I guess these pics will become part of our Jambo promotion & advertising.
I think it will be fun, and nostalgic to have a class pic - any thoughts fellow Jeeperz

The Glow worm caves day out might be a good opportunity for this pic - my first choice is however an Iconic Sydney Location

I am very pleased / excited with how quickly the initial response has been to my call - EOI.
Heres the List so far (16 strong)
I'd like to see as much variety of Jeeps and there handlers as possible so don't be shy Jeepers post up to be part of this "Historic" club photo.
I would like to see you all join in for this great SJC momento - & if there is any interest later I would be happy to produce for free, screen savers & posters etc so that you can be a proud Sydney Jeep Club member

But instead of doing on a club trip that only has a subset of the members lets do it as an add on to club meeting advertise it a month ahead and get as many to attend as possible

Harbour bridge or opera house are IMHO a bit to cliché.
How bout:
In front of Luna Park face?
Garden Island?
Bondi Beach (On it?)
Darling Harbour?
Could only dream of the ultimate donut pad - SCG
Anyhow I think we should get a truely good location and get as MANY members as possible and this would also be a nice image to include with marketing paraphernalia like Jambo flyers.
Personally I think it should be shot at Rydal Showground and the Jeeps should be included.
i like the idea of the SCG...... or even in front of homebush stadium?
but i also like glen's idea of at rydal.....
I know it's not exactly iconic but what about Stockon Beach in front of the wreck.
But I do like in front of the Members stand at the SCG.

What about in front of our key sponsors premise :)
In all seriousness based on history of attendance club meetings get 40% to 60% attendance a big event outside of a meeting eg Christmas gets about 50% attendance and a 4x4 trip gets about 10% to 20% or less
It is sad but we being in Sydney where many of our members have very busy lives we need to look at making it easy for people to attend

If blue Mountains theme - how about in front of say the Grand Majestic?.
I think save the Rydal one until next year and have a Jambo specific yearbook pic.

Observatory Hill, Hyde Park Barricks, Middle Head, North head, what about somewhere like Westmead Children's Hospital & collect donations for the hospital while we're there, just throwing ideas out there

SJC got kinda' run out of Homebush lining up for a photo once...that security guy didn't like us being there at all and we were pretty much the only people there...

Might have a contact with someone at Olympic Park ie the Events Coordination Manager.

no one in particular..... our office is based there so im sure i could get some contacts through there..... i am forever recieveing emails from them about events at SOPA

sounds good, i would love to be in.
it is obvious to most now - that the best opportunity for this "Class photo" would be at the glow worm caves trip - which sadly I have not put my name down to attend (I'm driving up to QLD for my Dads Wedding on Sunday)
Is there any one who would be interested in taking over the idea to get a "Staged class photo" - I was planning on using it in up coming Jambo publicity?
I think it would be a great chance to showcase the variety of vehicles and people we have at the SJC

Should be some suitable spots for some pic's along the day....................... Picking up a passenger (SGS) whom happens to be into photography..:)....There may be a "surcharge" on the day...;)..........:)......
If this wasn't done on the weekend - we are finally jeep owners again ... if we get the Jeep reg'd - we can bring our jeep and hide it up the back ;) Its no pretty one this time around!
