It's a "rock slide engineering" (RSE) shorty. They make a full version with foggys on either side but I wanted a short bar.
I like the square edges etc on this bar. Seems to tie in well with the lines of the Jks flares and my rear bar.

Edit : HIDs are bright :) no one hi beams me coming the other way but the people driving in front of me MUST think I have my beams on. They are very bright
Also add to the list now 35 spline axles in the rear. The stock were not strong enough and failed.

Got it from quadratec. The ARB bar is the one your mate would want for ADR legality

Latest update. Got the axles in Friday night. Also spent Saturday and most of this morning replacing the old 3" lift coils and 2" spacers with 4.5" lift coils. Installed the rock sliders and swapped the cable the winch for rope. Also installed the drake hood hold down kit.
If any of you are thinking about using the full traction lift for your rig don't do it. Bushes aren't up to the task. I replaced my rear bushes on the lower control arms and the new ones lasted one outing. Swapped the arms for Polly performance ones and they are still going strong.
Took the car in for a wheel alignment today and the front full traction lower control arm bushes are screwed. I'm not going to bother replacing them. Just going to get the Polly front lower control arms and be done with the FT ones.
That being said I've got a set of front and rear adjustable lower control arms in perfect condition ( both need new bushes on the side that mounts to the body) if anyone wants them both for $100. Cheers

What vehicle model/make do they fit?
They are off my 2008 Jk unlimited. 4 door. I should clarify they are not new. They have No damage just need new bushes on the sides that mount to the body
Can I ask - what make and model number are they - so I can see if they are compatible with my rig.

They are from the full traction ultimate 3" lift kit. Sorry that's about all I know. They are a direct replacement for the Jk 4 door lower control arms. If the Jk 4 door lower control arms suit your car then these will. I don't think you can use these mate :(
Got defected last week :-/ (dont worry, already cleared ;) ) has convinced me to get some flares that cover the tyre. Ill have some pics up after the instal in the next couple of weeks :)

wow looks like you have very limited up travel with the bump stops...
even less than me running 60mm lift running enough bump stop for 37's
i reckon he'll have enough...... ;)
Compression is fine actually perfect. Flexed it last night at the local industrial area and on the rear there is about 1" up left. The only problem I've encountered is on the front extending. If I lift the chassis using the high lift I get full extension without a problem. But when I flexed it on a ramp the wider shocks make contact with the rails and won't extend fully. Thinking the only way to overcome it is to somehow modify it so the shocks sit further out an inch. Any other ideas??
you have the speed bumps mate, you'll be fine....

Damn that's some travel... I didn't really get to see you flex jeep that much on weekend.. That's impressive....
Well until I installed those brackets the top of the main part of the shock was stopping when it reached the top of the rail. It wasn't flexing right on the weekend anyway. Thanks for telling me about those brackets :)

Photoshoot tomorrow. They asked me to have the car spotless but seriously, who cleans their car spotless to take it to zigzag the next day. I think a quick hit with the garden hose should do it.
Was hoping for my flares to arrive in time but tracking suggests they are getting delivered tomorrow.... Oh well

yep, Jason said that it will be around december before its featured. I think i gotta wait for the car to be featured before they give me copies of the pix taken today. It was a good day. No difficult parts so I spent alot of time searching for bad lines for maximum flex :P
I got them straight away but I was working there at the time so that may of been why.

today i got busy installing the new removable flares, Ive got the front ones on but waiting for the tool i need to install the rear ones. First impressions... they are wide and cover the tyre. In terms of them being removable I knew they would be a pain to get on and off with the snorkel in the way but it will probably take about 10 mins to remove and install the flares instead of 2.

What size arb fridge do you have in the back?? I'm looking to get a fridge with enough room for the food and grog, but don't want to take the whole boot up. yours fits nicely

The ARB is a 47L. I find it to be the perfect size for me but I could have easily gone with the 60L if I needed it
Was always dissatisfied with the lighting in reverse so I finally found a solution... Tested it last night and I'm really happy with the difference :)

What lift and components are you currently running on your crd?
and is there anything in particular you would modify or change?
What springs are you running upfront and have they sagged much from all the front end weight?
Looking into lifting my jeep and just trying to get it right the first time....
How would you rate the poly performance gear?
Especially the onroad handling, also is there much added vibrations due to the mechanical joints used on the pp control arms?

your rig is in a double page spread in Issue No58 "Modified 4wd's" (4wd action), page 38-39. The article is on suspension mods - the pic is a side view of the JK - recognise the Drake Off Road hood latches and that distinctive mug of yours :smile-new:.

skizzi runs 37's...... you need to lift your jeep to fit them on..... or cut the crap out of it :P
Hi yea needed to lift it around 6" and push rear axle back an inch using adjustable arms to avoid cutting pinch seam. Could get away with less lift but I like driving over things ;)
I lifted mine 3.5 inches and got 37's on.....

Rake over is different for both as Reyzor has the 2 door and Skizzi is a 4 door. So the bigger lift overcomes the crapy rake over of the 4 door. both these trucks are awesome.

I've been thinking about upgrading using the synergy long arm upgrade kit but so far the short arm is doing ok. Once all the bushes are stuffed maybe...
jk's arent in desperate need for long arms like the tj........ unless you go stupid high, which you dont need either........ a short arm jk works well........
I got a feeling George's rig is one of those you just point in the direction you want to go and it's up, whatever the obstacle ;)

Skizzi, The Synergy LA kit looks like it would be a worthy upgrade especially to compliment an existing Synergy setup. I looked pretty long and hard at three kits including that but in the end settled on the Teraflex LA kit because of the cost, the suppport and completeness of the kit. I was going to run with a EVO high clearance kit but it got all too hard for EVO. I think if you upgrade you will be happy. I'll let you know how mine goes when if finally gets here. Leaving the USA on a ship next week so i don't expect it untill end of Jan, early Feb which is very frustrating.
The idea of point n shoot with the JK is what i'm going for :pirate: and contrary to other peoples train of thought, i don't believe that a long arm is for stupid high lifts. 4" with 37's will be sweet. The advantage of the LA is that it will generally smooth out your ride making it a better rig all round.
Skizzi i think your truck articulates really well by the photos i've seen. Long arms will not make that any better as we all know it comes to shock length, but it's the extreme angles that the short arm sees at full flex over the LA that make the difference.
Hopefully we can all stand around kicking our tyres soon over a beer or two to discuss this further..

A warning - While I did not go all out with my lift I did get a Monster track bar from teraflex. Only installed for 3 months and the sleeve adjustment bolts have stripped their thread. While they were rated at 8.8 & torqued to correct number, they certainly were not capable of even 40lb when it's recommended to do 60lbs. Luckily I saw this the other day ^replaced them both. I think their bolts are inferior.
I have read other forums where this is very common.

Yea I'm noticing the bushes are getting really stressed at full flex and the long arms will help that. If next year is a good year ill consider. It's one of those mods that always comes to mind but I end up spending on something else.
Eg. Waiting on an AEV roof rack to arrive. Needed extra storage for camping with 4 people

I hate changing bushes..... But you get good at it having an re kit.
