looking for Left axle for a dana 35 as a tempary fix as I snaped mine.
I have lined up a wrecked TJ for its drive line (Dana 44 rear, HP30 front & 231 TC).

However I need the ZJ on the road to pick up the TJ(& for Christmas).

TJ isn't HP D30 ;)
You know I MIGHt have an old axle laying about - only just remembered I ripped some out of my old black XJ.

My old axles have the hardening worn off but are still usable, if an XJ axle will fit a ZJ?

O'well It's still Dana 44 & a better TC.
Sounds good, I'm a begger so what ever I can get is better than what I've got lol.
I need to drive to VIc to see my Aunty(not having a good run in my family at the moment) on Monday & will bring the TJ back with me then.

My yards going to look Like a wreckers soon.

my lined up replacement has fallen through.
The Dana 44HD from a WG is the Aluminium one?

Wg is crappy Alloy D44 - not worth bothering with.

Ive never had trouble with it for over 9 years! and it's been belted a few times.

Thing is Steve if the diff is already fitted, that's one thing, but to buy one and then fit it - that's another.
The Alloy d44 does not have the strength of the regular d44, but also does not have the aftermarket support either.
So whilst I have no doubt it works for you & many others - it's not what I'd recommend for the time & money and expecially when used with larger tyres & lockers.

Did you know XJ axle is shorter than a ZJ Axle by approx 2"
I have one of each sitting side by side the ZJ is snapped at tha same length as the the undamaged XJ - what a bummer no Jeep from me over Chrissy.

Do you have a passenger or drivers side D35 axle? The drivers side is the longer one at about 1 1/2" longer than the passenger side.

Cheers
Steve

Thats about the difference. Then Dave had the wrong one for me, Bugger(can't complain it was a freebee)! Doesn't matter as I couldn't even source the torque socket to remove the grub screw holding in the pin in the centre of the diff. I bought a set & even tried a 12 point socket still failed.

Hunno I think you tried to call the other night?

I still have my two D35 axles if you want to try them, and may have a suitable socket (may!!)

Shoot me an email to the editor, I'm not working today.
