Winch maintainence

Ive got a pretty decent warn M8274 high mount winch on my TJ. Its not just an ornament and has been used to assist a few people in this club :) and no doubt myself at some stage. Although I could get it serviced by a 4WD workshop Id rather have the skills to do the basic checks.

Would anybody care to show me the basics sometime?

4wd action runs a winch maintenance story every few months.
doesn't look too hard to do - just remember to put everything back in the same way it was when before you pulled it apart.

its my next job to do on the jeep - must do it before jambo!

Take lots of photos as you pull it down. that way you have something to fall back on when its reassemble time.
