Just a heads up for you iPhone owners.
Jeep has made it's TripCast (http://www.jeeptripcast.com/) iPhone App
avaliable on the App Store.

Hit the road with the free iPhone app that tracks the progress of your driving adventures and lets your friends follow along and enjoy your photos, videos and notes in real time.

You will need a US iTunes account to get it though.
Info for doing that can be found here (http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Create+a+US+iTunes+account)

Enjoy.

As usual the Windows mobile community gets shafted, probably because we can get, and expect, most of our apps for free anyway!

hehe, not to mention that microsoft themselves have abandoned the platform ;)

Did a short run to Burralow, and set the program up.
First issue is that the app won't run once you lose network access.
Perhaps you'd do okay with Telstra's NextG network, but others will drop not too far in.

Which brings the biggest issue with the app, it's reliance on a gsm/3G network.

The programs intensions are good, but that issue is a killer.

Hardly ideal if you want to map a desert trip, even parts of the Watagans have patchy signal on Next G. Looks like the OziExplorer type set-ups are still safe :)
