Count me in. I assume the Jeep limit is no longer 12 since there are already about 17 Jeeps already confirmed.

I also plan on driving to Port Stephens instead of back to Sydney Saturday night so I can drive on the beach on Sunday if anyone wants to join. I'll be coming back to Sydney Sunday night.

Don't forget to bring me back a trip report and plenty of pics! It would really make my day :)
Hey Mani,
so whereabouts is this old weigh station? Is it before or after the turn-off onto Berowra Waters Rd? Never used this spot as a meet-up point before.
Pura Vida

Yeah, if anyone knows GPS coordinates for it or an address recognized by a GPS for it, please post it. The nearest intersecting road with Pacific Highway would work as well.
Ben
My Jeep's name is Pura Vida
Weigh Station????? Can you actually stop there? Especially as it's a 100k zone from memory.

Quickest way there is to take the Berowra turnoff from the F3 then head north up the Pacific Highway
I hope all you victims friends wont mind the if the tracks are HARDCORE easy

Its on the pacific hwy just a driver and pitching wedge from my place, it is now a truck stop and headquarters for bush fire fighters, note the big windmill. Im working you bastards >:( >:( >:(
Looking at Google - it looks like it sits between two forks in the northbound road. Does it matter which fork you take to enter?
It is approx. 2km north of Berowra Station, in the fork between the Old Pacific Hwy & the the Nth bound on Ramp to the F3.
If you are coming from the south go
*onto the F3 at Wahroonga,
* take 2nd exit Sign Posted Berowra Exit(appox. 8mins from Wahroonga).
*Up the ramp turn Left to Traffic Lights.
*Turn Right onto Pacific Hwy, pass to Shell & Mobil Servo's
*Straight through the Traffic Lights & Pedestrian Crossing Lights(station on right & Berowra Fencing on Left)
*2km Straight ahead.

I see on the Watagans website that there are picnic areas with public gas BBQ's. Are you guys planning on bringing BBQ lunch or cold lunch?
Pura Vida
Usually the new guy brings enough food for every one
Nah just joking, we normally don't stop long for lunch, so its usually just sandwiches and snacks but I have seen everything from tailgate gas cookers to pie warmers and bring LOTS of water. You'll find there a lots of stopping and starting so there always an opportunity for snack breaks
Has everyone got recovery points front and rear?
Funny... last night on 4wd TV they featured the Wattagans...did any one recognise the tracks they did?
any way... It's going to be a very hot day tomorrow, so prepare for it.
I beleive there is a fire ban as well..
but should be a great day out

I've got the front and rear rear recovery points that come standard on the TJ, which I read in one of Mani's previous posts are sufficient.
I've also got the required 2 watt CB radio, 11 and 8 ton snatch straps , 2x 4.5 ton shackles.

The TJ ones are only tiedown points not recovery points, they're pretty dodgey and not safe for a decent snatch recovery. The JK ones are recovery points if I remember rightly. Do you have a towbar, that works fine at the rear.
Cheers

Mate I was talking about the Jk. My bad I didn't check what car u drive.
did they give you any idea as to what it might be ??
fingers crossed for something cheap and easy
Ouch - Sorry V, hope it's nothing serious - if you're losing a lot of fluid from the front axle, then I'd get Jeep Assist to deliver it to the dealer, driving without any diff fluid could do more damage.
Big thanks to Hunty for noticing that I'd broken the bead on my front tyre before it became a serious problem...and to all for a great day out...
Sorry to hear about your troubles Veronica
Well I got home safely with just 2 wheel drive. Yes folks I busted my front CV joint on the front drive shaft. I had to remove it.
THANK YOU EVERY ONE that supplied the tools and the help. I REALLY appreciate your patience and advice. Thanks guys! especially ,,,I think it was Hunty..
Any ideas on a replacement source?
That was the muddiest trip I’ve done, took me 2 hours of cleaning and that was the Jeep!
PS To make it worse- I lost a rear mud flap too and the wife said HOW much???? (The wife is NOT happy)
thank you all for a great day it was a great atmosphere ;D
thanks to Miraz for leading it and Manni for starting the trip
i am sorry to hear about the casualties :'(
sounds like another eventful day in the Watagans ;)

Hey Wolfie
Luv ur way of trip reporting. New guy PuraVida did a great job with his nearly stock TJ with Nearly bald 31inch ATs. I just cudnt imagine how capable a stock TJ can be. It was his first trip as well.
Guys
Sorry to hear the damage done to the Jeeps. Hope Pura Vida made it ok to Stockton. Boy it was a good trip . But the casualty list was a bit bad. Veronica: upside down steering, busted axle seal, Busted tyre, Steve C: Busted CV and drive shaft.
Guests liked the trip and enjoyed it we probably have 2 new club members out of them.
I need a way to log and remember the trip routes but dont have the money for an expensive GPS at this time. Any suggestions welcome.
Cheers

Very clever,
However I did notice the bubbles were coming from the other side of the car, other wise this mught have been a good way to deliver carbon dioxcide straight in.

I have a detailed trip report coming in the feb mag, unless you need details now?
Just a quick note
Very impressed with Pura Vida's Stock TJ, road tyres, with 3 passengers & 1st time 4wding.
Couple of bogges & step learning curve.
Well done.
Hope to see you again & hope Stockton went well.

Thanks again guys. We all had a great time on the trip. I’ll join the club next time I go on a trip.
So who’s got pictures of the girls holding me upside down by my belt while with my head in the mud while attaching the shackle in the back?
Ben
The easiest way to join the club is to join online by Paypal, or come to a meeting. The first one for the year is at Regents Park Bowling Club on 3rd Feb.
Unfortunately, either the secretary or the treasurer do not always go on trips so joining on a trip would not be an option.
Hope to see you as a member soon and glad you enjoyed your day with the Club.
Maggie.

Hi Guys,
Sorry for the very late response to the trip had a few family issues arise.
V hope all works out, maybe an excuse if they say no to warranty to get better quality aftermarket parts then the small Jeep stuff they are probably going to put back on and charge the Earth.
My only damage to come from the weekend was a smashed front drivers side bushwacker flare from the 35's flexing and not having enough room under the guards, which I cant replace on its own, have to purchase another 4 but at least I will have spares. Good excuse to get that 4" Ive been day dreaming about.
I have a few photos of the day I will up load when my internet is back on at home after moving.
Cant wait for another day like that, Jeff Thanks mate the tracks were GREAT and Thanks Mani for organising.
Cheers Guys
BEN
