All Chrysler Day - 01 Nov 09

All Chrysler Day is coming up weekend after next and was wondering whether anyone from SJC would like to give their Jeep a bit of a spit and polish and line up on the day. I'll be going with the Barracuda but happy to coordinate if we get a few cars going.

Event is on Sunday 1st November at Fairfield Showground, Smithfield Road, Prairiewood, and gates open at 0630. There is a trophy for best Jeep but If you want to be judged you need to be in the gates by 0930 and registered by 1000. I'll probably be there early to try and get a line-up of the Cuda's and Challengers but can advise them of how many Jeeps might be attending to try and get you a spot together.

Forgot to mention that entry fee on the day is $20 per car and an additional $10 if you want your car to be judged. Trust me, it is possible to wheel hard and clean up your Jeep for a show and shine!

I have been involved with the ACD for probably longer than I can remember as I was born into the Chrysler Restorers Club and they have a large attendance there every year.

I am not sure if any of you (or the club) has done it before, but the ACD is a great show and a great day out for all, but there is a very distinct lack of Jeep presence there every year. Naturally there's a lot of classic cars, and a LOT of air brushed PT Cruisers, but never have I seen a Jeep club display, and I am sure it would do great things for the club. Surprisingly (or perhaps not) but many of the people who own classic Chrysler vehicles have a Jeep as their "family car". We could be advertising the club to a whole new audience.

We've done a Jeep run there a couple of years ago and had several Jeeps in the show...we weren't all that impressed with the officials that day... :-\

There was an issue the year we had a club display that left us a little disappointed and the club hasn't displayed at the show since but if you disregard the judging, this would be a great opportunity to advertise the club to what is effectively our core audience - the Chrysler community. Could always ask for some Jeep dealership help with bunting/signage etc if we get enough cars. Jeeps will need to be clean as it is a show and shine (not your average 4WD event where half the vehicles try to out-mud each other) but it isn't a bad day out if you love all things Chrysler. Need numbers soon if we want to put on a display though.
