View Full Version : Camp Coffs 2009
The Camp Coffs registration forms have come out in the current issue of Jeep Action. As a new member I do not know the club history regarding attendance at Camp Coffs. Can I get some idea of whether SJC is going to have a presence there (ala Jambo)? How many attended last year? etc.

Yep, we always have camp SJC much like at the Jambo, this will be my 6th year and I think Cpage66 is on to 5 if he goes. Typically we have at least 4 to 6 club members and their familys. Last year we had 4 members in our campsite with 11 people. Some years we get more, cant think of one with less then 4.
Cheers

we get back from japan halfway through coffs, so we're going to miss it. wah :'(
I really wanted to have another go at widowmaker and have a crack at "impossible".

We'll be there for #5...
our trip to japan has been postponed until november, so we'll be there :)
I would love to come... but will have to wait till last minute to confirm, as this is only a couple of wks before my wedding and things may just be a bit too busy then! Will have to see, else next year I will be back!
Steve, I thought we had at least 6 last yr: me, you, Casey/Bec, Cpage, SteveT, Vince... maybe another?

I am planning on going, I will be in Fiji the week before hand, flying back in on the 10th, then jumping in the Jeep and heading up for the 11/12/13th.

Who else is going? My rego goes off this week and the Jeep is slowly getting ready as well, heaps of general maintenance stuff I've let slide such as new radiator, rear brakes, front brakes etc etc. Can't wait :)
Cheers
Steve
Yeah I'm still going. Flipped the camper axle to mount under the springs today, needed to do that to get it level with my lifted vehicle. Have to get the KJ serviced as well.
You got a lift kit on the KJ Glen?I was half xpecting to see you turn up in a CJ,you have been chatting a bit about CJ,s lately. Are you lookin for a project???.
Mitch - nice to hear from you. Looking forward to catching up with you and the missus at Coffs. Yes I put in a 3" lift back in December. Re the CJ, yes it would be a nice project but $$$ are keeping it a dream at this stage (unless I can find locally one of those "take it away for $1" bargains.)
I,ll keep an eye out for ya mate, if i see any cheap CJ,s in Newcastle i,ll let ya know. We,ll be joining the Jeep convoy to Coffs as it passes Newcastle.

Spoke to Michael Bowen yesterday and he's thinking that they are tracking towards around 150 jeeps attending this year.
rebecca bought herself some gumboots in the event of epic mud

By the way, I heard there is a dutch shop in Coffs Harbour so I will be able to buy some nice dutch salted liquorice also know as "zoute drop" mmmmm ! There is also a windmill in town, so I'm sure it will feel like home for me....
;D ;D ;D
If you can't get any, I will make a special trip to Smithfield to get some for you, about time we had some as well .. don't forget to take your flag to Coffs.

How did the new setup perform Casey?
it went really well :)
ive not driven a lifted jeep before so i dont have anything to compare it to. it does drive just as good as it did before the lift, if not better which is a pretty good result considering it now has has a higher centre of gravity and much larger, heavier wheels and tyres than before.
The engineer of the kit, Jim Frens, used to work for jeep. he talks about the kits design features here: http://forum.aev-conversions.com/showthread.php?p=5995#post5995
