off was easy a A-frame and chain block and tackle make all the difference but getting them on damn they are heavy
time to start acquiring parts, need lockers, R&P, brakes seals bearing etc aka complete rebuild
yes we should have taken the engine hoist with us
just didn't realise they came with wheels, tyres and springs
they sure did make them strong back then
unlike the crap they pass off for a dana 44 these days
Glad to see you got those scout d-44s sold, Chris.
Try a 44/60 with tyres into a caged 7x4 trailer! Not exactly easy nor quiet in the middle of the night!

How do you get the leaf spring eyes through the slots, that I assume are for the leaf pack, on the truss? I'm sure I'm missing something obvious here :)

Duh, spring under right :) That didn't take me too long to work out :)
Cheers
Steve
If it is spring over then I'm sure the truss only extends to the leaf spring perches and not to the axle flange.

Yeah the spring perchs are not yet the slots are for the u-bolts will be SUA the perches will go on when we install under the jeep so we can get the centering and spacing dead right to the jeep rather than the measurement of from factory too many variables in the manufacture of old jeeps
